Pattern - Thalassane Shawl by Henriette Corbeil

Where the sea becomes lace.

Inspired by seascapes and their natural movement, Thalassane is a beautiful crescent-shaped shawl that gently draws us deeper beneath the surface.

As you knit, textures and lace flow seamlessly from one section to the next, creating the feeling of a gradual immersion beneath the water and ultimately revealing a delicate, organic underwater herbarium.

Balancing structure and lightness, Thalassane finishes with a soft, undulating border that echoes the movement of the waves.

Construction

Thalassane is worked from the top down, beginning with a Garter Tab Cast-On. Its crescent shape gradually develops through regular increases incorporated into the different textured and lace sections.

The patterns flow naturally from one to the next, creating a harmonious progression all the way to the final border.

You will need 2 skeins of Lana 2.0 to make the shawl. You can use two skeins in the same colour or choose two slightly different colours, as recommended by Henriette.
