Manchelopis is a soft, airy unspun yarn produced entirely in the Castilla-La Mancha region, a land rich in history and the home of Wooldreamers!

This unique collection was created in honor of the Manchega sheep, a breed native to the region and the origin of Manchego cheese! Manchega sheep are generally bred for their milk rather than their wool; with Manchelopis, Wooldreamers wants to highlight the value of this natural fiber.

Manchelopis is blended from the wool of two unique flocks, raised according to traditional farming practices with compassion for the sheep and the land they graze. With one flock producing dark brown wool and the other white, this line began with a range of colors in a gradient from light to dark by blending the two wools.

The unspun 2-ply structure of this yarn allows it to be worked in different gauges depending on the fabric desired!

  • Worked in 1 ply (Fingering): 460m per 100g, suggested needle size 3.5 mm (you'll need to separate the plies).
  • Worked in 2 plies (DK/Worsted): 230m per 100g, suggested needles 4.5 mm to 5.5 mm
  • Worked in 4 plies (Super Bulky): two balls knitted together, suggested needles 10 mm
