Temporary Knitting Kit – Thalassane Shawl by Henriette Corbeil

Inspired by coastal landscapes and the gentle movement of the ocean, Thalassane is a beautiful crescent-shaped shawl that gradually draws you beneath the surface.

As you knit, textured and lace sections flow seamlessly into one another, creating the feeling of a slow underwater journey before revealing a delicate seaweed-inspired motif with an organic, graceful design.

Balancing structure and lightness, Thalassane finishes with a soft, undulating border that echoes the movement of the waves.

For this temporary knitting kit, you can choose between two Fibre Carpe Diem yarns: Lana 2.0 or Mérinor Fingering. Each kit includes two carefully coordinated colours selected to highlight the shawl's beautiful textures and lace.

Construction

Thalassane is worked top down, beginning with a Garter Tab Cast-On. Its crescent shape gradually develops through regular increases integrated into the textured and lace sections.

The stitch patterns flow naturally from one to the next, creating a harmonious progression toward the elegant final border.

The kit includes

• Thalassane shawl pattern (English and French)

• 2 × 100 g skeins of Fibre Carpe Diem yarn in two coordinating colours, available in Lana 2.0 or Mérinor Fingering, depending on the kit selected

• 80 cm circular needles – 3.5 mm

• 80 cm circular needles – 4 mm (for bind-off)
