The perfect pattern for knitting your first sweater! This pattern is ideal for beginners, but will also appeal to more advanced knitters. It knits from top to bottom, seamless. Knit it plain or have fun with stripes or color block.
1988 is a loose, chunky sweater knitted on large needles.
A step-by-step tutorial in French accompanies this pattern. There's no need to be afraid of knitting your first sweater: Marie-Christine will take you by the hand through this adventure.
The Nueva sweater is knitted with 2 strands.
The knitting kit includes:
- The quantity needed according to the size chosen of Nueva (38% baby alpaca / 37% Pima Cotton / 25% merino), a wool with a unique texture and hand-dyed in Quebec by Fibre Carpe Diem*.
You'll need (not included in the kit):
- French and English pattern to buy on Ravelry
- 6.5mm and 8mm needles
- Open markers
- Blocking kit
Difficulty level: Beginner
Care: hand wash in cold or lukewarm water, dry flat
Recommended gauge: 13 cm / 5 inches
* To make a striped version like the photo, you'll need an extra ball from Nueva. Start your first stripe 7 cm from the bottom of the neckline. Stripes are knitted in 6 rows and spaced about 14 cm apart.
