Gilliatt by De Rerum Natura

Gilliatt is a carded wool yarn made from a blend of French Arles merino (Provence) and black Portuguese merino, both raised with a focus on animal welfare and the sustainable use of their wool. All stages of production are carried out through a short supply chain (washing in France and Italy, spinning and dyeing in France) with a constant commitment to traceability and reducing environmental impact.

It is available in natural colors obtained from blending brown and white fleeces (“salt,” “white pepper,” “salt and pepper,” and “pepper”), as well as in a palette of subtly heathered dyed shades.

A perfect yarn for knitting:
Its natural loft and the roundness of its three-ply structure make it ideal for knitting gorgeous cables, endless cozy stockinette, and anything that invites you to snuggle up. This is a forgiving yarn that easily hides small irregularities, doesn’t split, and stays nicely in place on the needles—making it an excellent choice for beginners as well.

Please note that very dark or highly saturated colors are more likely to bleed during blocking. If you plan to combine them with lighter colors, we recommend first testing a swatch. If you notice excess dye in the first wash, repeat the rinse bath until the water runs clear before laying your piece out to dry.
