Peruvian is a classic 4-ply yarn made from 100% wool. The wool used for Peruvian comes from Peruvian highland sheep, a cross between corriedale and merino. The sheep graze on the Peruvian highlands, which contributes to the wool's extra fluffy, wonderfully matte appearance.
It is the same fiber as Pernilla.
Peruvian wool is worsted spun, making the strands round and very even. This gives beautiful stitch definition, making Peruvian ideal for cables, textural patterns and jacquard knitting.
Peruvian is suitable for all kinds of projects - knitting or crochet - for children and adults, and the work can be felted. The assortment of colors gives free rein to creativity.
Mulesing is not used on Peruvian highland sheep.
